A Class and Other News!!!

 

We have been asked by several of our clients when our first class in our new classroom will be - it will be this Saturday, March 31!  We are so excited!  We only have 4 seats left - so book yours now!  You will be making a double page layout that was inspired by the talented Jowilna Nolte. The low price of R220 will also be all inclusive!   Yes, all the papers, embellishments and everything else you need to complete this page.  And the best part of all - you can choose your own theme and colourscheme!!!  Whether it is wedding, vacation, birthday, kids, school - anything, you can choose!  And from any of our over 2000 patterned papers on the floor!  So, book now!  There will also be lucky draws and prizes that we have been getting together for our first class, so don't miss out! It is going to be a huge weekend for Scrapping in Jeffreys Bay - when you are done with your class at our shop, why not hop on over to Bohemian Scrapsody that is hosting an event as well in town!  We all love Scrapbooking and we believe it is important to support each other when we are doing things to promote the hobby!  So, come and make a day of it - if you are not the "class" type, come browse through our new store to pick up some special items, and then make your way over to Bohemian Scrapsody at the Equinox Mall to see what special offers they have!  Jeffreys Bay is known as the Scrapbooking Mecca of South Africa, it is holidays, it will be raining.............what better way to spend a day when you are a Scrapbooker or Cardmaker!

Just an update on the Scrapbook Studio Design Team................ 

First of all, thank you so much for all the Scrapbookers who entered!  We were overwhelmed with the response, and it was really, really difficult to choose between all the amazing applications.  We are done choosing, and we are now in the process of notifying all the members we have chosen, as well as the Guest Designers.

Please know that we only had a limited number of spots that we could fill, and we did our best to try and ensure that the Team we chose represent a variety of genres and scrapping styles, so that there will be something for everyone!  We also tried our best to choose a team that will bring you original and inspiring work, that will be dedicated and who love scrapbooking!!!  That is, after all, the main ingredient!  They must love what they do!

So, watch this space and remember - send us your layouts to be added to our gallery on our website, or if you have created a layout with products purchased from our online store, please send us a high resolution photo, and we will feature you on our site!  We do encourage original work, but we are very happy to accept layouts for publishing inspired by sketches or other scrappers - as long as you clearly give credit!

Today the shop was buzzing with Scrapbookers and Cardmakers.  We realised once again how important Inks are to our craft. With the Dollar/Rand Exchange prices are sure to increase, as a matter of fact we have already seen the increase in some of the products from the local Distributors.  Increasing courier costs, rising overheads and the weaker rand, all contribute to this.  At Scrapbook Studio we will always try and keep our prices as realistic as we possibly can to still stay in business and continue to provide you with the standard of service and variety of products that you have become accustomed to!!  We are, however, very aware of the fact that there might be a real increase in some of the prices of certain lines.  BUT, until that happens, enjoy the low, low prices we offer on all our products!

We had a stunning day today at the shop - as you know we have been working hard on expanding the shop and adding a new scraproom. We are basically finished - final touches are just being added.  We don't know how we managed without this Scraproom - and how we fitted all our stock as well as 12 students and loads of shoppers into the shop during peak times!!  Today we almost felt as if the shop was too small again!!  Here are some photos from today and one or two other days the past week.

      

 

So, as you can see, it has been a hive of activity the past few days!  Our wheelchair ramp also proved to be just in time - poor Louise broke her foot last Friday night, but she did not let that stop her!  She also wanted to make sure that the shop really is wheelchair friendly, and we are happy to announce that we passed with flying colours!  Amongst all of it some creativity also took place, and we saw some stunning projects being created!  Even some cards by a non-scrapper/cardmaker who just joined her friends, Cheryl and Lyn today for some scrapping!

We hope you will enjoy the rest of your weekend - we have had LOVELY rain, and we are so very thankful for that!  We have some amazing products on their way from both our local suppliers and the USA, and we cannot wait to reveal all! 

We will also be announcing our new Design Team in the next few days as well as the date of the official opening of the new store!  SO, watch this space while you craft!!

Tim Holtz Distress Markers

We are so excited to announce that all 37 colours of the new Tim Holtz Distress Markers will be in store in the next few days! We will be running a special on these markers where you can get them for R37 each if you buy 10 or more until 31 March. After that the price will revert back to R45 per marker. Please email your orders to sales@scrapbookstudio.co.za. These markers will only be listed on the website after 31 March, to give opportunity to our loyal subscribers to have first option!

We will not in any way try to influence you to buy these markers - they will "mark (et)" themselves!

i also know how to use a hammer – kind of.  here i am busy adding coverstrips to the ink shelf.  i painted them white afterwards – you will still see the finished and ink stacked shelf!

leslie arrived this morning with her big, rolling tote behind her, announcing that she was coming every wednesday from now on to scrap, on her day off.  we told her that we were still kind of in the middle of renovating, but she insisted that she just needed a table and a friendly face.  we had loads of those!  so, she scrapped and created a stunning double page, shaker box and all, with Priscilla and Donsie’s help.  Louise also arrived early morning before running her errands, and after she had done her rounds, she also came to get her latest order of Echo Park papers ( 25% off) and started matting some photos.  they were great – they did not mind the excessive hammering, sanding and laughter!  we are slowly but surely getting there – we want to make sure everything is 100% for all our clients!  ( but i have to admit – my feet are complaining BIG time and i think we are all quite exhausted after 11 days of non-stop renovating!!!!!)  xxxx

Closer and Closer....

Last week we reported when the paperstands were empty. We have progressed! We have painted some pegboards.

We added a wheelchair ramp.

We filled boards with loads of embellishments

We filled over 32 paperstands with paper

And more paper.......

And even more paper....

Of course we had to dedicate a wall to Mr Tim Holtz.......... We are all exhausted. We are open for trade again, and apologise for the delay in any of the online orders - we just had some trouble finding stock while it was all packed up!! Things are slowly returning to normal! Watch this space for some really exciting news in the near future!!! Thanks for all the well-wishes and the visits, phone calls, emails and sms'es from all our clients wishing us well with this endeavor. We are only doing it in order to enhance your Scrapping experience, and we do hope that you will enjoy our new shop and classroom!
