Mixed Media Canvas Class

A few ladies attended the mixed media Canvas class again a week or so ago. ( some for the second time, they just can't get enough!!)

The class area was a beehive of activity - one of the regular scrappers said she had never heard a few ladies create such a buzz about stamps, ink and paint!

Here are some of the results. Blanche from Great Impressions inspired us when she taught a very similar class at the shop last year. It has been a huge hit, and we can't thank her enough for her generosity and creativity!

Just had to love the green creation! Well done, ladies!

More Family Matters.......

Here is the next chapter in Gail's Family Matters album. Note all the detail..........

The journaling tells the whole story - the tree transparancy the perfect divider for the two pages.

On the right is the page that has even more of the family's history.

Can anyone who knows Gail believe she was such a doll??? Yes, and she still is! Watch this space for the next instalment soon!

Family Matters

Some more of Hogscrap! This is Gail Dorfling's Family Matters album as taught by Genevieve over the weekend. We will showcase the whole album, 4 frames every day, as there is so much detail! Then we will showcase Gail's daughter, Leilani's album. Done with the same kit, but she scrapped their boat cruise! The album came in kitted form, with everything you need. This is the cover

Gail started with her parent's 60th wedding anniversary. The album is filled with pockets and place for tags.

Must be love after 60 years! The word "love" was cut with the Cricut, and is also part of the kit.

Gail's mom as a young girl. Note all the handwritten journaling. I have been after Gail to use her own handwriting for years - and when she started using it in this album, she could not stop! Note the journaling on the black around the photo on the right.....stunning!! visit us tomorrow for episode 2 of Family Matters!

It was the Night Before Christmas.....

Here is another one of the classes Genevieve taught at Hogscrap. Made with Kaisercraft's Dear Santa range from 2009. It is a feast of Vintage Colours and spectacular techniques! This layout was done by the very talented Gail Dorfling. She added her own twist here and there - just look at the wonderful touch with the perfect pearls!

One of the Mini-albums on the layout. It closes with Velcro and flips open to reveal loads of gorgeous pictures.......

More hidden pockets and another mini-album on the other side of the page!

Here the above album is open and the hidden treasure revealed in the pocket........just look at the beautiful ensemble stamp with the Christmas trees at the top of the page!! Fantastic!!! Tomorrow we will post Gail's Family Matter's album - also a kitted class taught by Genevieve at Hogscrap!

Another Monica Masterpiece

Monica was asked to make a wedding card for someone by a friend. In true Monica style, it was not just a plain card........it was a masterpiece! It started as a plain wooden box painted black, and decorated with various background stamps by Tim Holtz. Inked with clear embossing ink, and embossed with Platinum UTEE. Various of Tim's metals were used to decorate the box.

Here is the complete package. The card fits snugly inside the box. Monica, you really are an inspiration!!

Carnival of Life............

Leilani Bradley went to Genevieve's Hogscrap retreat. she loved it! this is one of the layouts Genevieve taught.

full of techniques, distressing photos, adding colourwashes to them, making the photos the main feature.

there is even a mini album on the layout, and when it opens, this balloon pops up! she used velcro to close the mini book. the mini album consists of as many pages as you like!

another page of the album - this ticket strip just pops up! Leilani, this is a stunning layout! well done! Genevieve can be contacted at 0824986827 if you would like a kit, or if you would like her to teach this class! she is a very talented lady. we will be featuring more of the layouts from Hogscrap in the next few days! watch this space!
