Holiday Scrapping

So, what have we been up to since the Holidays have been in full swing? Classes, classes and more classes! We have been full every day with loads of scrappers creating stunning pages! Today we did a "beginner's class" from ages 8-100! We even had a MAN!! Yes, Peter and Kristen have been married almost a year and Peter's mother, Sandy, inspired them to do a class together!

This gorgeous layout by Amelia shows just how effective the use of circles and faux stitching can be.

Here is proud Peter with his first layout - he is quite a natural! They already booked their second lesson for Tuesday!

Just look at this beautiful layout 16 year old Sanmari created. The stunning papers by Die Cuts With a View is perfect for any occasion! This is a gift for her grandparents for Christmas. We are so glad everyone is having such a great time! We love having you guys for classes!

Tim Holtz Tag Class

We held our annual Tim Holtz Christmas Tag Class on 14 December, where ladies had the opportunity to make some tags using Tim Holtz products and techniques at a give away price. It was supposed to only be a 3 hour class. Cariena was confident that the tags that took her almost 2 days to finish, would be a cinch for 8 and a half ladies in 3 hours! Dead wrong! We had so much fun, the class went from 10am to just after 5pm!!

Here Carol is busy making her first tag - she decided on a very fashionable Dusty Concord tree - it came out spectacular!

Just look at that table!! Half of the ladies were holiday makers, and as our class included every single thing, ( even the glue used!!) they did not have to worry about a thing! We know what it feels like when you come on holiday and you were not allowed to pack your WHOLE scraproom, so we cater for those holiday makers who also would like to join in the classes.

We have been asked to repeat this class in the early New Year and we will keep you posted on when the next Technique Tag class will be! Click here for our December class schedule. Remember to visit our online shop for fantastic deals and wonderful Scrapbook Supplies you must have in your Christmas Stocking! We also offer Scrapbook gift vouchers online, so tell your husband, children and other loved ones to pay our shop a visit and get you a Scrapbook Studio JBay Gift Voucher for Christmas!!

12 Tags of Christmas

We have been so busy with the new online store, that there was literally no time to be creative! But, we managed to create two tags inspired by Tim Holtz' 12 Tags of Christmas 2011!!

We firmly agree with what Tim says - you have to make do with what you have. improvise and make it your own! We carry most of the items used on the tags in stock, and we are also running a 20% discount on Ranger and Tim Holtz products in store until 31 December - online only! Also running is a competition in conjunction with Scrap Affairs where you can win Tim Holtz/Ranger products worth over R3000!!! Remember that The Wholesaler competition is also still running - loads of people have already won prizes - you could be next!! Enjoy your week and please visit our online shop for HUGE specials if you have a chance!!

Monica's Xmas Class

Hello everyone! We had Monica's Xmas project class on Saturday for the first group of ladies. It was stunning!! Everyone worked really hard! This is Genevieve's finished project. Isn't it stunning!! The calender was specifically designed by Monica for this project. A photo or note can be clipped into the crocodile clip that has been altered with alcohol ink. This is not limited to Christmas - now you can make one of these as a birthday gift, and anniversary present, or just make one for yourself because you can!

Here Kim and Monica are discussing the qualities of different Glue Dots ( we have over 10 different ones in stock) and the rest of the ladies are working hard on covering their wooden blocks and putting together the sides of the project.

Julie is one of the most methodical scrappers we have ever met! She is outcome geared, and before you know it, she has put everything together without breaking a sweat!

Genevieve decided to change hers a bit, and here she is putting the finishing touches on her project. Thank you to all the ladies who made this a very special day - we are so glad that you were able to leave with completed projects and we would like to thank Monica for all the effort she puts into her projects and the way she spoiled all the ladies with the extras and really creating something specatacular!! Looking forward to the next one!

Technique Class

On 19 October we posted about the layout above. On the Monday we got a phone call from Nan to book the class for the layout. When I did the layout originally, I did not think of doing a class with it. But as time went on, we got even more requests! Nan booked the 12th of November. Three of them from PE would come to do the layout.

And here they all are! It was the first time most of them had misted, stamped and fuzzy cut in one layout, and it was quite an experience for them. Paul, Jenee's other half, was a very good and patient other half. He was working on his laptop the whole day, and shared the good news with us that South Africa's Table Mountain was voted the 7th Natural Wonder of the World! They all left with completed layouts and said they thoroughly enjoyed all the new techniques they learnt. Thanks for joining us, ladies! We hope to see alot more of you!

Stunning!

We just had to share this beautiful page Desiree made of her youngest daughter. She used a sheet of Prima's Winter 2011 Reflection paper as her background. The paper already has beautiful designs on it, and she just enhanced it with Stickles and Glossy Accents. She them matted her photo twice and distressed the edges. Bella Blvd Alpha stickers were used for the title, which says it all! How have you used a patterned paper as your background? Send us your layouts to info@scrapbookstudio.co.za. We would love to see your work! Enjoy what is left of your week and happy scrapping!!
