Snail hunting – Two page

Snail hunting – Two page layout

Today we have a stunning two-page layout by our November DT Member, Lynette Jacobs.  We love the photos of the kids with the snails, and how she used the circles!

clip_image002

Step one: Cut two cardstock to 30cm x 30cm

Step two: Cut a 29cm diameter circle from Crate Paper: Portrait Collection Bouquet. Cut a 10 x 10 cm from Crate Paper: Portrait Collection Traditions for your journaling block.

clip_image004

Step three: Cut three strips by two. I cut along the pattern of the black lacy paper of the Crate paper: Portrait Collection: Tradition. I then split the lacy paper in two halves to go across the page. The other two strips I edged with a border punch.

Step four: Cut circles various sizes and lay out your basic layout to get the placement of the various circles.

Step five: Paste down the large circle with 7,5 cm on the left page. Paste down the strips, bottom strip is approximately 11 cm from the bottom. Then paste down the circles according to your placements.

Step six: I added some very old “raindrops” by Cloud 9 Design.

Step seven: I coloured the chipboard alphabet with a black marker.

Randomness and New Kits!

Louise van der Merwe's daughter Lindri has been in Canada for the past few months, and her mother was so excited to welcome her home, that she made LOADS of goodies for her!  All glittery and stickled!

She spelled out the Welcome Home and covered the letters with the Simple Stories "Fabulous" collection.  She added random photos and flowers to dress it up.  We love it!

She then did this Christmas Wood Decoration.  She painted it with Gold Craft Paint, and added some bows and flowers for interest.  We are sure Lindri is enjoying all of these items and we know how much effort you put into it!
We have two new kits!  The one above uses the Ruby Rock It Nostalgia Collection, and you can choose your own title!  Complete instructions and everything you need to complete the layout is in the kit.  Learn how to create custom embellishments and use Glossy Accents and Circles to it's fullest!

Our next kit uses the Game On Collection by Webster's Pages.  You will learn how to use Sticky Back Canvas in the Kit, as well as a few other techniques!  Price of all kits are R150 excl Postage.  Just visit our Scrapbook Kit Section on our website to order yours.  Also have a look at all the other wonderful kits we have available!

Hello everyone!  Better late than never!  Here are the step by step instructions of the gorgeous “Born to Shop” layout our November Design Team Member, Lynette Jacobs, designed for us!  Enjoy!!

clip_image002

Step one: I used the Crate Paper Emma’s Shoppe Collection (Books) for the background and cut it to 30X30 cm.

Step two: I cut a 9cm x 23cm strip of Crate Paper Paper Heart Collection (Define) and inked the edges black.

clip_image004

Step three: Using a 6x6 Crafters Workshop heart template, I traced 13 hearts on the Craft Paper: Emma’s Shoppe (Dolls), Portrait collection (Traditions) and Portrait collection (Bouquet).

Cut it out and inked it with black ink.

Born to Shop!

It is a new month, and time to announce our next Design Team Member, Lynette Jacobs! We are so priviliged to have this lady as part of our team!  She is very talented and serves on several Design Teams.  She created the layout above with our November kit.  The step-by-step tutorial will follow later this week. Here is a little bit more about her.....

Hello, my name is Lynette Jacobs and I live in Port Elizabeth. If I have to name what my passions are in life...it would be my family, my walk with the Lord, photography, scrapbooking and the work we do in our community.  I have been married to my childhood sweetheart Kobus for the past 33 years and we have three grown children.  I adore my family and have been blessed with 5 gorgeous grandchildren (and another on the way in June).  They are my pride and joy and the subject of most of my scrapping.

My husband and I founded a non-profit organization in 1998 that provides for the needs of nearly 580 homeless and poor people whom we house at the Mission.  I still stand amazed at what the Lord has done and is doing on a daily basis at the mission. After 14 years of working in the Mission, I have still not gotten used to the heartbreak and brokenness of the people that cross our paths. This work is very stressful and emotional and scrapbooking provides me with much needed stress-relief and recharges my batteries..

I started scrapbooking in 2005 when I enrolled to receive monthly scrapbook kits.  I love that my hobby can give me so much pleasure and at the same time create a legacy for my children and grandchildren.  I would describe my scrapping style as clean and uncluttered.  I love using embellishments but my photos will always take center stage.  I am thrilled to be part of the Scrapbook Studio design team.
